How we review

Last updated October 22, 2026

Supplements are sold with big promises and small print. Our job is to put the two side by side. Every CapsReview review follows the same process, so you can compare products on equal terms.

What we look at

1. The label

We start from the official product page and supplement facts label. We record the form, the number of capsules, the daily serving, and every ingredient with its amount when the brand discloses it. When a formula hides doses inside a proprietary blend, we say so, because you can’t judge an ingredient without knowing how much of it you get.

2. The evidence behind each ingredient

For each ingredient we look for human research in reputable sources such as the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements, PubMed, MedlinePlus and Cochrane reviews. We rate the evidence as strong, moderate, limited or preliminary, and we compare the dose used in studies with the dose in the product when we can.

3. Price and value

We record the official price for one, three and six bottles and the cost per day. Bulk packages are often cheaper per bottle, but they also lock in more money if the product does not suit you.

4. Refund terms and transparency

We check the length of the money-back guarantee, whether it covers opened bottles, and how easy the brand is to contact. Clear terms and full ingredient disclosure score higher.

5. Safety

We list known side effects and interactions for the main ingredients and who should avoid the product, for example during pregnancy or when taking certain medications.

How the CapsReview score works

Each product gets a score from 0 to 5. The score weighs ingredient evidence most heavily, followed by label transparency, value for money and refund terms. Marketing claims, testimonials and celebrity mentions do not count toward the score.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t claim to have tested products in a lab or on ourselves unless a review says so explicitly.
  • We don’t publish customer testimonials or invented user counts.
  • We don’t present supplements as treatments for diseases.
  • Affiliate commissions never change a score. See our affiliate disclosure.

Keeping reviews current

Prices, formulas and guarantees change. Every review shows the date it was last updated, and we revisit reviews when we learn that a formula or offer has changed. If you spot something out of date, let us know.
